    Itinerary

    Day 1Arrival Day in Kathmandu

    Welcome to the country rich in giant mountains and natural beauty! On your arrival, GREEN LUCKY TRAVELS & TOURS representatives will pick you from Airport and you will directly move towards hotel. After check in into hotel, our tour manager will briefly describe you about our tour package. Then, night is open for casino, drinks and message/spa.

    Day 2Sightseeing Around Kathmandu Valley

    On second day, at 8:30 AM we will move to main World Heritage Sites of Kathmandu Valley i.e. Bhaktapur Durbar Square, Pashupatinath Temple, Swoyambunath Stupa and Boudhanath Stupa. Your accomodations and meal will be taken care by our team during the travel.

    Day 3Fly to Lukla and trek to Phakding

    Altitude: 2610m

    Trekking hours: 4hrs

    The flight in the Lukla region usually takes place in the morning time. So you will have to take an early breakfast, you will be boarded to a 30-minute flight to Lukla. The adventurous and magnificent mountain view flight will certainly make you feel close to the mountains.

    After you arrive at the Lukla airport, your bags and belongings will be taken by one of the porters. You will then start your trekking journey on foot towards Phakding village. The trekking today is an easy 3 to 4 hours walk through the Dudh Koshi valley.

    Your walk starts at the airport where you will head towards north through Chheplung (2700m) and then cross the suspension bridge of the Thado Koshi River. Enjoy the view of the beautiful mountains on the horizon and walk the trekking trail passing through the Ghat (2590m) and a ridge marked with painted mani stones. After some hours of ascending you will finally reach today’s destination, Phakding village.

    Overnight rest stop for today at Phakding.

    Day 4Phakding to Namche Bazaar

    Altitude: 3445m

    Trekking Hours: 6 hours

    Today marks as day 4 of and the second day of your trekking journey on foot. You will be trekking through Dudh Koshi River on a series of five different suspension bridges to reach Namche Bazaar from Phakding.

    You will ascend all the way to Jorsale from where you will enter the Sagarmatha National Park. The entire region is also known as Everest Region or Khumbu Region. Jorsale is a checking point where your permits will be checked and your entry will be registered.

    You will further ascend enjoying the majestic view of Mount Everest on the way on a clear day for about 5 to 6 hours and finally reach Namche Bazaar. You will be acclimatizing and resting here for a day on the following day.

    Day 5Travelling in Namche Bazaar

    Altitude: 3445m

    Trekking Hours: 5 hours

    Your morning will be quite exciting and pleasant today, waking up in the trade center or marketplace at the highest altitude in the world. The marketplace at Namche Bazaar has a lot of activities and places like government offices, internet cafes, shops & restaurants, ATMs, souvenir collecting colorful market, bakery and everything needed to make Namche Bazaar a real Bazaar (marketplace), no wonder the name.

    Today is an important day for you as you are acclimatizing your body so that it can endure the high altitude and balance your body at such altitude. Resting a day in this altitude will help you through your journey the next day as you will be getting to higher altitudes and if you ignore to acclimatize and rush your journey, you might get high altitude sickness.

    Acclimatizing doesn’t mean that you will be resting for the entire day. You will have a lot of activities today.

    You will hike to Khunde and Khumjung villages and back to Namche Bazaar through the Everest view hotel Khumjung. You will be able to view the famous Yeti skull in the monastery in this region.

    Some of the mountain ranges you will be viewing today are Mount Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, Ama Dablam, Thamserku, Kongde and many other series of mountains. Be sure to pre-book your trek to avoid accommodation hassle.

    Today you hike towards the Syangboche airstrip (3790m) and you will slowly ascend to Khunde. Then you will move towards east to Khumjung Village, which is known as the largest village in Khumbu region or Everest region.

    You will pass through numerous chorten ( Buddhist stone monuments) along the trail today. Enjoy your lunch at Khumjung village and head back to your resting stop at Namche Bazaar enjoying the view of majestic mountain ranges.

    Overnight at Namche Bazaar and get ready for tomorrow’s trekking.

    Day 6Namche Bazaar to Tengboche

    Altitude: 3860m

    Trekking Hours:5 hours

    After proper acclimatization and rest day at Namche Bazaar, it’s time to move on close to the mountains. Today’s trekking journey has a lot of ascending and descending till you reach Tengboche.

    The tea shops at Kenjoma is one of the attractive places in today’s journey. After that, you will be linking to the trail from Khumjung village.

    On reaching this point, you will get the perfect view of Mount Everest and Ama Dablam. You will pass through a small settlement at Sanasa and descend till Phunki Thanga (3250m). The ascending trail from here can be tiresome. The trail follows the side of the hill and you finally reach to the famous Tengboche Monastery (3870m).

    The Tengboche Monastery is open to the public at around 4 pm so you should start accordingly. From Tengboche, the view is stunning which is why this is a preferred place.

    Up-close panoramic mountain views of Mount Kwangde (6187m), Mount Tawachee (6542m), Mount Everest (8448m), Mount Nuptse (7855m), Mount Lhotse (8501m), Mount Ama Dablam (6812m), Mount Kangtega (6782m) and Mount Thamserku (6623m) is unbelieveable.

    We will rest at Tengboche today.

    Day 7Trek to Dingboche

    Altitude: 4360m

    Trekking Hours:4 hours

    After early morning breakfast at Tengboche; you will descend towards Deboche. Today’s you will explore the beautiful rhododendron, conifers and birch forest.

    Crossing the Imja River’s suspension bridge from where you will get the spectacular view of the Mount Ama Dablam is one of a kind. After this point, you will be gradually be ascending up to Pangboche.

    As you reach to Pangboche Monastery, the pristine view of the Himalayan view becomes closer. You will then pass through the Imja Valley and cross Lobuche River through another suspension bridge and finally reach Dingboche.

    This is today’s stop and you stay the next day too for acclimatization.

    Day 8Adjustment in Dingboche

    Altitude: 4360m

    Trekking Hours:4-5 hours

    You are above 4000m above sea level at Dingboche and many trekkers tend to get high altitude sickness at this level. So it is important to acclimate your body and staying in Dingboche helps you to get rid of symptoms of altitude sickness.

    You will be taken to hike and explore Chhukung Valley and its surroundings. Majestic view of Mount Lhotse, Makalu and Cho Oyu is amazing. The west side gives you the admirable view of Cholatse and Taboche peaks. The north-west side has more Himalayan peaks rising above the Khumbu Khola Valley including Lobuche West, Lobuche East and Lhotse. To the south-west side, you will notice the picturesque view of the eastern face of Ama Dablam.

    After capturing the moments of the Himalayan range, hike back to the Dingboche where you will stay overnight and acclimatize properly.

    Day 9Trek to Lobuche

    Altitude: 4930m

    Trekking Hours: 5 hours

    After breakfast at Dingboche, we ascend towards Thugla (4600m) for about around an hour and half. You will rest here and have lunch, prepare yourself for the trek towards Lobuche.

    The trekking trail from here is a steep ascend up from Thugla. You will notice the mountains Mt. Pumori and Mt. Nuptse, getting much closer, as you reach towards Lobuche. You will notice the Trekkers Aid Post at Pheriche (4280m).

    Supported by The Himalayan Rescue Association, you will find a western doctor stationed here who offers treatment and consultation to trekkers. You will finally get through the valley to the yak pastures at Lobuche.

    As this is the high altitude area, you will not have luxurious meals, except for only basic accommodation and Nepali food (Dal, Bhat and Tarkari).

    Overnight at the tea house or a lodge at Lobuche.

    Day 10Trek to Gorak Shep and Everest Base Camp

    Altitude: 5160m, 5360m

    Trekking Hours: 7 hours

    Today’s journey marks as the historical trek of your trekking towards Everest Base Camp. After an early breakfast, you will trek towards Gorak Shep which will take anywhere around 2 hours.

    The trekking trail first gets easier until an hour and after that, you will have to climb up a steep trail. The up-close view of the Everest, Nuptse and many other mountains will keep your mind at peace and make you want to climb and reach your destination quicker.

    Finally, after a short time, you will get near Gorak Shep where the trail gets a bit more comfortable. Gorak Shep is known as the world’s highest settlement which stays at around 5160m above sea level. Have lunch here and back to the trekking trail towards the main destination of this trekking journey, the Everest Base Camp.

    Trekking up on to the side ridge of the Khumbu Glacier is one of the most adventurous and memorable journeys for most of the trekkers. After one and half hours of trekking through the ridge, you will finally reach the Everest Base Camp.

    You can find a lot of trekking enthusiasts and even mountain climbers at the base camp. The view of Khumbu Glacier and Khumbu Icefall is the moment you would capture for the rest of your life. The amazing picturesque landscape in the Everest Base Camp and the feeling of reaching to the base of the world’s highest mountain is something you can feel proud of.

    After spending some quality time in the base camp, you have to leave the heavenly place behind and trek back to Gorak Shep where you will rest overnight.

    Day 11Trek to Kala Patthar & Back to Pheriche

    Altitude: 5545m, 4280m

    Trekking Hours: 7 hours

    The trek towards Kala Patthar today starts early before dawn. Total time to reach Kala Patthar from Gorak Shep is around 2 hours. The reason for trekking so early is to avoid the chilly wind and to view the sunrise from Kala Patthar.

    The viewpoint of Kala Patthar is extraordinary and most of the people visit Everest Base Camp to get to Kala Patthar, the highest point of the trek.

    Kala Patthar rewards you with a clear up-close view of the 360-degree panorama of Mount Everest and its surrounding majestic peaks. The sunrise view of this panorama is something every trekker dreams of.

    After capturing memories in Kala Patthar, you will head back on an easy way back descending towards Gorak Shep. After lunch, you will then head back down to the same way you ascended to Pheriche. The long 7 hours of trekking today will give you a pleasant and peaceful feeling and a good night’s sleep at Pheriche.

    Day 12Trek to Namche Bazaar

    Altitude: 3445m

    Trekking Hours: 6 hours

    Today’s trekking distance is quite interesting. You will descend more than 2000 meters of altitude from Pheriche to Namche Bazaar. You will be walking up and down the trekking trail today passing through Debuche and Tengboche till Phunkithanga (3200m).

    After this point, you will be ascending towards Namche Bazaar which will be your resting point for the day. This is your last day leaving behind the up-close view of majestic mountains on the horizon.

    Enjoy your time in the marketplace once again get your souvenirs in Namche Bazaar. Have an amazing time and don’t forget to go to the bakery shop and other places while you still can. Overnight at Namche Bazaar and rest your knees after such a long descend.

    Day 13Trek back to Lukla

    Trekking Hours: 8 hours

    Today’s trekking back is also all about descending, approximately around 7 to 8 hours from Namche Bazaar to Lukla.

    If you have missed anything or place, this is the time to revisit it and make memories heading back to the starting and ending point of your trekking journey, Lukla.

    Overnight rest at Lukla to catch an early morning flight back to the capital tomorrow.

    Day 14Fly to Kathmandu from Lukla and transfer to your Hotel

    You will be asked to wake up early for the early morning flight to Kathmandu due to the drastic weather change in the area. The only time when the weather is clear for the flight is in the early morning as the sun just starts to rise up. The flight usually take anywhere from 45 minutes to an hour.

    You will be transferred to your hotel after reaching to Kathmandu.

    There is lots of time to either go souvenir shopping or hire a guide and visit places you’ve missed out on. There will be a final farewell dinner party in the evening to celebrate your successful completion of the trekking journey to Everest Base Camp. Celebrate as much as you can and stay overnight in Kathmandu.
