Maulakalika Temple

Maulakalika is a famous tourist destination for both foreign and domestic tourists as it offers both spiritual satisfaction and adventures obtained by hiking in the place. It is located at the top of Maula Hill in the premises of holy place DevghatDham in Gaindakot Municipality of Nawalparasi district. Since it is located at the top of the hill we have to go through around 2000 footsteps to reach up to the temple. There is a belief in Hindu religion that the devotion towards the God can be obtained only if we can bear pain and sorrow which enables us to regret for our sins and free us from selfishness. So, every temples are always at the difficult and at height places so as this temple.

MaulaKalika Temple is dedicated to Goddess Kalika also called Kali who is one of the incarnation of Goddess Parvati among her nine forms also called NavaDurga. But, we can also see the idles of small temples of other incarnations like Mahakali, Mahalaxmi and Mahasaraswoti are built around temples premises.

Visitors can enjoy the panoramic views of Narayani River, holy place Devghat, Sauraha, Chitwan National Park and other natural beauty from the premises of this temple. Many people prefer to watch the sunrise from this place. People can also observe Banbatika– Peace forest park, tap stands, artistic slate-paved way and various temples on the way to the main temple. This temple gets crowded during the main festival of Nepalese i.e. Dashain.
